Practical Web Information
- Graphics
Graphics will typically include your business' logo and any other images relating to your business, i.e. a coffee cup for a coffee shop, or a picture of your actual shop or product. Your existing logo should be either camera ready printed art or electronic art on disk. Berkeley Webs will scan and enhance all images.
Additionally, custom graphics work is also available and gives your site a professional, unique look.
- Web page
A single web page consists of graphics and approximately 800 words of text. Text may be pulled from previously published materials, brochures, flyers etc.. Your site may also include a variety of information such as specials, calendar of events, introduction of employees, etc.
- Internet Service Provider
An Internet Service Provider (ISP) is a server connected to the internet that enables you to send/receive email and surf the net. Internet connection fees are charged by your ISP independently of Berkeley Webs. If you do not already have an ISP, Berkeley Webs will assist you in selecting one.
- Web Host
Berkeley Webs will install your new web site on your web host. A web host is a server connected to the internet that will store your web site for a monthly or annual fee. Web hosting fees are charged by the web host (often your ISP) independently of Berkeley Webs. If your do not already have a web host, we will assist you in securing a reliable web host for your site.
- Domain Name Registration
Berkeley Webs will search for your desired domain name. After an available name is found, your domain name will be registered as "www.yourbusiness.com". Registration fees are charged at a rate of $70 for the first two years; $35 annually after that.
